Is there really no snow in the alps?
The headlines could not be more sensational today in the Daily Mail, Telegraph and Times, putting the fear of a ruined holiday into the minds of those booked for January, or even those considering booking this year’s trip.
Well, what a load of tosh!
Firstly, I starting skiing this season on the 17th December and I have just skied 18 miles today over a 4 hour period. Most skiers do this in a day so it shows how much terrain can be covered. To be precise Chatel Pre-La-Joux, Les Crosets, over the ‘wall’, down to and around Avoriaz, Lindarets and back down to the car park!
Secondly, these headlines take no account of the snow that fell over the weekend or the metre of new snow that is coming tomorrow, Wednesday, Thurdsay, Friday, Saturday and Sunday plus through into next week!
Below are my photos from today. You can see the quality of the snow on piste and my video, although shakey, shows the quality real time! drop us a line for January skiing – just £499pp per week in January. email@example.com
